BRIMFIELD’S #1 SHOW –     2015

J & J Promotions, Brimfield’s longest running outdoor antique show, which began in September 1959, at Auction Acres, in Brimfield, Massachusetts, has long been considered the premier show.  During each week of the Brimfield (MA) shows (three times a year in May, July and September), there may be as many as twenty different shows operating, ranging from a few booths in someone’s yard, to large fields.   J & J is open on Friday and Saturday and gives the buyer the opportunity to shop when most of the fields are open.  Our focus has always been on antiques and old collectibles.

THE VENUE
The well designed field contains large booths and wide aisles, enabling easy access for the dealers to unload their vehicles and for buyers to shop and to pick up larger items they may have purchased.  A large area of on-field parking makes it easy for the buyers.  Parking opens at 8:15 am on Friday.

Most display areas are under tenting, protecting valuable merchandise and making shopping pleasant.  In some cases, a group of dealers may get together under a larger tent, creating an antique “mini-mall” atmosphere.

THE DEALERS
Many of the J & J dealers have been exhibiting for years, a few since the show began.  They deal in everything from smalls (glass, silver, jewelry, prints, art, etc.) to furniture (such as chairs, tables and cupboards).  They know their merchandise, welcome your questions and are usually willing to negotiate.

J & J Promotions provides amenities including a caterer, and change rooms with hot and cold running water, field lighting and a PA system for emergencies.

FOR THE BUYERS
A map of the field  space layout is available and can be used to locate a particular dealer,  make note of an item of interest or locate where to pick up a previously purchased item.

Also available at our check-in booth or at the back of the red barn is information to help a buyer find an exhibiting dealer, either by name or by shop name.

An important consideration for buyers:  If you see something you like, don’t hesitate.  Negotiate for the best price and, if you agree, make the purchase.  If you wait to come back later, it may very well have been sold.

Please note where you parked your vehicle, dress in layers and wear comfortable shoes.  Also, set a time and meeting place for you and your friends.

FINALLY
J & J Promotions is proud to include the second, third and fourth generations of the Reid family operating the show for fifty-five years.  They look forward to seeing you in 2014.
